In Branding Projects we work in a team of two. Head Designer Leena Fredriksson and Project Manager, me, Pia.

We have a carefully selected a trusted set of photographers and printing houses that we work with.

We are both based in Helsinki, Finland. We are mobile and global.

The agency part of Helgahelp is carried out by me, Pia.

    Pia Knoester is a Helsinki - based entrepreneur who received her master’s of business administration (MSc) from the University of Maastricht, in 2002. She got a certificate in Graphic Design from Helsinki Design School, in 2019.

    About me

    My superpower is my zero inhibition to reach out and connect with people. I work well in Swedish, Finnish, English and Dutch, although my written Finnish and Dutch are weak. In addition, German, French and Spanish are all familiar languages.

    I was born in Jakobstad, Finland and now live in Helsinki. Before moving to The Netherlands to study I spent a year working and living in Lyon, France. I have a master’s degree in business administration (MSc) from the University of Maastricht.

    In 2021 I decided to step down from the company I had helped to build and venture into the unknown. In May 2021, I founded Helgabad as I had a great product that needed a platform.

    I am married to Hendrik who is Dutch/Peruvian and have two amazing daughters, Sophia and Stella.

    Our family also consists of a kaninschen dachshund, Helga. Every morning I work out and break a sweat, without it I am lost.

    I am an incurable “hotelloholic” and our house is full of fashion and interior magazines that I scan for visual inspiration.

    I get things done.

    In addition to knowledge, experience and structure I am fun to work with.

    Leena Fredriksson is a Helsinki - based artist, designer and art educator who received her two MA degrees from the University of Art and Design Helsinki (Aalto Uni), Department of Design in 2005 and from the Aalto University School of Art, Design and Architecture, Department of Art in 2020.

Helgabad is a Finnish company based in Helsinki and home of KAFTAN(EN); a Scandinavian style towel poncho.

Helgabad’s purpose is to simplify your pre- and post bathing or surfing moments and to add value to your hygge moments at home.

After briefing Leena on my thoughts around Helgabad, it took only a few hours before I had the brand book in my hand. Leena captured my thoughts perfectly. Together we processed;

Business Idea

To create beautiful stylish printed journals based on your Facebook posts and pictures.

I had a very clear idea of the whole concept of which the visual branding was very important. It was Agency Leroy and Christa Björkstam who created the brand book based on my ideas and moodboard. Together with Mikael Östling, Joakim Beijar, Johann Höglund and Inga Gudonienè I set out to build the software to help create the journals.

This was a company I founded during a time when Facebook acted as my personal journal. I posted a lot of pictures of my family and wrote daily about the developments of two small people I have the privilege to raise.

In 2013 my mother started reading her own mother’s handwritten journals about her daily life in Congo-Kinshasa in the early 50s an din India in the 60s.My mother typed them out, so that they can be saved for generations to come.

I realised that if anything were to happen to me, my children would have no journals to turn to, only posts and pictures on Facebook.

Today the attitudes towards Facebook, personal data and privacy has changed significantly. That said, I have an experience of a lifetime and a few expensive and visually appealing journals to show for it.
